Support, limits and self-exclusion

Responsible gambling

Gambling involves risk and casino entry is 18+. If gambling is causing worry, stop now and speak to an independent support service. A hotel break should never depend on winning.

Notice changes early

Warning signs can include spending more money or time than intended, returning to recover losses, hiding gambling from other people, borrowing to gamble, missing bills, feeling restless when trying to stop, or allowing gambling to affect sleep, work and relationships. A single sign is enough to pause; you do not need to wait for a crisis or apply a label to yourself.

Keep travel, food and accommodation money separate from any amount you choose to gamble. Decide a firm limit before entering, do not increase it after a loss and take regular breaks. Alcohol, tiredness and strong emotion can make decisions less considered. Gambling should not be treated as income, an investment or a way to pay for the hotel.

Independent help

GamCare provides confidential information and support, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. GamCare also provides a real self-help and assessment route. GambleAware offers information, support pathways and a tools and support section. Gamblers Anonymous publishes meeting and fellowship information.

These organisations are independent destinations. Casino Stay Review does not run a homemade screening quiz, diagnose harm or see the answers you give to another service.

Land-based casino self-exclusion

SENSE is the self-exclusion scheme for participating land-based casinos in Great Britain. Use its official site for current scope, process and support. You can also ask casino staff for information about self-exclusion and safer gambling tools.

GAMSTOP is online-only. It restricts access to online gambling accounts with participating companies; it must not be presented as exclusion from land-based casino premises. Someone who needs both forms of exclusion should examine SENSE for participating physical casinos and GAMSTOP separately for online accounts.

In an immediate crisis

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or attend A&E. For urgent mental health support in England, use NHS 111 and select the mental health option where available. Gambling support is important, but it does not replace emergency or clinical care.

Hotel public areas may be open to families or non-gambling guests, while casino gambling areas are restricted to adults aged 18 and over. Keep those access rules distinct and check with each venue.
